Increased Flyers

Because of energy production activity in western North Dakota and the global military activities, passenger numbers at the Minot International Airport have increased significantly in the last decade. In 2023, the airport served more than 301,000 passengers.

Runways

There are two runways at MOT. Runway 13/31 is the primary runway with ILS approach capabilities. It is 150 feet wide and 7,700 feet long. Runway 8/26 is a crosswind runway being 100 feet wide and 6,351 feet long.

Commercial Terminal

The Minot International Airport moved into the new commercial terminal on February 29, 2016. With approximately 125,000 square feet, it was the newest and largest terminal building in the state of North Dakota at the time. There are more than 1,400 parking spaces available, with plug-ins available in the long-term lot.

With airport growth and activity, new and updated projects are continuously in the works to improve your travel experience. Some of our amenities include:

  • Full-service bar and restaurant
  • MOT offers free wireless internet access provided by SRT
  • Power bars and a surplus of in-seat charging stations
  • Service Animal Relief Area (SARA) for travelers with disabilities, who are traveling with their service animals.

Location

The airport is conveniently located at the top of Minot's North Hill.

Minot Air Force Base

Minot Air Force Base is located 10 miles north of the airport and is the home of two major wings, the 5th Bomb Wing and 91st Missile Wing.
